Local postal strikes
31 October 2003, 15:45

Please note: This news item has been superceded by one issued on 3 November 2003.

Central London and various other areas of the UK are suffering local, unofficial industrial action, which is delaying or preventing mail from being sent or delivered. This includes the Royal Society, where applications for the Copus Grant Schemes are processed.

The closing date for the Copus Grant Schemes 2003/4 remains as stated in the application materials: 6pm local time on Monday 10 November 2003.

We are reviewing the situation as it develops, and any further updates will be posted to the Copus Grants website. We recommend that applicants submitting their applications by post use a service such as Recorded Delivery, and follow the recommendations published on the Royal Mail website.

Deliveries in person and by courier are also accepted, and these may be made to the reception at 7 Carlton House Terrace, or outside of business hours, to the letterbox at the entrance to 6 Carlton House Terrace.

Supporting statements:

The Supporting Statement Form must be enclosed with the application. We will accept Supporting Statement Forms that have been faxed from the Supporter to the Applicant. Supporting Statement Forms must NOT be faxed directly to us.

The Copus Grant Schemes are funded by the Office of Science and Technology and The Royal Society.
