| Introduction
Singing Maps is a project designed to allow visually impaired (and
other) members of the public to engage in the science content and
appreciation of thematic maps. Image spectra comprising the basemap
will be converted into sound, allowing geographical features of
the map to be heard. The target audience will be encouraged to take
control of the processes by customising the sound of the map according
to taste.
